In May, in the vicinity of Doi Kham, 500 in a.s.l. (Thailand, Chiang Mai Province), a mass-development of Macroglossum belis (LINNAEUS, 1758) on Strychnos nux-blanda (Loganiaceae) and of Cephonodes hylas hylas (LINNAEUS, [1771]) on Mitragyna rotundifolia (Rubiaceae) was observed. The trees were totally defoliated. The different colour morphs of the last istars of both species are figured in colour, as well as the defoliated trees.
