Status of Karnal bunt of wheat in Jammu Region

Wheat grain samples were collected from major wheat growing districts of Jammu and Kashmir, India, during 2002-03 to determine the incidence of Karnal bunt (Tilletia indica). The highest disease incidence was recorded in Kathua district followed by Jammu, Chatha Research Farm and Rajouri, respectively. The highest percentage of infected samples was collected in Haripour (Hiranagar; 21%).
