Beech and Pine particles were used in tests to find optimum conditions of press temperature and moisture, kind of metal caul, and % hardener. Spraying with various aqueous solutions was tried to get faster heating-up at the centre of the board. After-treatments to harden insufficiently cured boards were not successful, and some degradation may occur. Insufficient press time may lead to increased liberation of formaldehyde.
