Two-year-old seeds of the capsicum California Wonder stored in tin cans at room temperature were treated in the following ways: (1) GA3 at 10-300 p.p.m. was applied to dry seeds, (2) seeds leached for 3-24 h were dried for 24 h at 25 deg C or not dried, (3) seeds leached for 48 or 72 h were dried or (4) seeds treated as in (3) were treated with GA3 at 5-50 p.p.m. Germination was enhanced much more by leaching, especially for 72 h, than by GA3 treatments.
