Treatment of calf diarrhoea with benzetimide

Benzetimide (0.15 mg/10 kg body wt) was administered i/m to 66 calves, aged up to 8 days, with acute coli septicaemia, and to 25 calves, aged 8-14 days, with chronic coli septicaemia. The drug was given in combination with chloramphenicol (200-400 mg/10 kg i/m), and a furazolidone-streptomycin-sulphonamide mixture was fed for two days.
