The preparation, which is an anticholinergic drug which inhibits intestinal secretion and peristalsis, was tested in 273 calves or adult cattle with diarrhoea, alone or combined with antibiotics. The benzetimide preparation, in a single i/m dose of 10-20 ml, produced only a temporary remission of the diarrhoea, but when it was combined with antibiotic therapy complete cure was obtained.
