Use of trace elements in rearing young cattle during the suckling period

Young suckled cattle were given supplementary potassium iodide and cobalt and manganese sulphates. The trace element supplements stimulated haemopoiesis, increased oxidation-reduction reactions and produced average daily body weight gain of 640 g, higher than that produced by the basal diet taken alone.
