A survey was carried out in Ismailiya Governorate, Egypt, on the arthropod ectoparasites of rodents (mainly Rattus rattus and R. norvegicus). The most abundant group of parasites was Siphonaptera, especially Xenopsylla cheopis (Roths.), which also had a relatively high flea index, and also Pulex irritans L., Ctenocephalides felis (Bch.) and Leptopsylla segnis (Schonh.) (Ctenopsylla segnis).
