A total of 124 growing grey Chinese geese were divided into groups by sex and weight (small < 2 kg < large) and given diets where 0, 25, 50 and 100% of defatted soyabean meal was replaced by cowpea hulls. Growth, feed conversion and carcass quality decreased with increasing cowpea hulls. There were no differences in sex, initial weight or interactions between these and carcass and meat production.
