Inverses Schlüpfen bei Ischnura elegans (Van der Linden) (Odonata: Coenagrionidae)
Libellula 14(3/4): 203-208
In 1991 and 1992 inverse emergence of larvae of Ischnura elegans was noted at lake Wilsleben in the northeast foothills of the Harz. In 1991 counts of exuviae on five days have resulted in a maximum figure of 33% for inverse exuviae of I. elegans. On 30 May 1992, during the period of maximum emergence, the process of inverse emergence was documented fotografically. The reason for this behavior is not yet understood. It may be argued, that under the situation of high lokal density of larvae inverse emergence may help to avoid damage by following larvae.
