The phyto-toxicological effect of carbon bisulphide and ethylene dichloride-carbon tetrachloride mixture when treating seeds on the occurrence of stunted germination

Grain of wheat, rice, millet and barley was fumigated for periods of 5, 10 or 30 days with carbon bisulphide at 0.1, 0.2 and 0.4 ml/1. or a mixture of ethylene dichloride + carbon tetrachloride at 0.175, 0.35 and 0.7 ml/1. With carbon bisulphide, no adverse effects on seedling growth were noted in maize Syrian Early and only limited effects in rice Japanese Selected and Giza 14 with any treatment.
