Prevention of diarrhoea in newborn calves
Rivista di Zootecnia 3(2): 117-118
For prevention of diarrhoea in newborn calves the cows must have adequate minerals and vitamins in the feed, and calves must get sufficient colostrum to supply antibodies. The antibodies are specific and the calf should be kept in the same environment throughout the neonatal period. Treatment of diarrhoea with sulphonamides and antibiotics is discussed.
