On an intensive calf-rearing farm 315 two-month-old calves were given monensin in feed at 100 mg/calf daily for 60 days, while 178 received 10 mg clopidol similarly; there were 39 untreated controls. Acute coccidiosis occurred in one, one, and 7 (36%), respectively.
