Laboratory studies in Yugoslavia in which adults of Sitophilus granarius (L.), S. oryzae (L.) and Tribolium sp. were used as test insects to evaluate the effectiveness of 2 fumigants showed that phosphine penetrated through crushed oilseeds (soyabean and flax) somewhat more effectively than methyl bromide; relatively low concentrations of phosphine gave good control of the insects.
