Two-year-old potted Acer palmatum seedlings cut back to 40-50 cm in late spring were transferred to a greenhouse in mid- to late June and kept dry without wilting. The selection and preparation of the scion material are described. Grafting was carried out between late July and late August using a side veneer graft. The grafting procedure and aftercare are described.
