Operation and arrangement of the Ryholm housing system. New housing system developed by a Swedish farmer
Milchpraxis 12(3): 12-14
The Ryholm system of housing cows, developed by a Swedish farmer for use on dairy farms in conjunction with pipeline milking is described. The feature is that it enables the cows, arranged in groups of 20-30, to rest and eat as they would in an ordinary short-stand tie-up system, whilst in addition making it possible to move them by 45 deg and thus assume positions used in the herringbone parlour.
