Experiments in dogs, cats, rats, and isolated guinea-pig hearts and deferent ducts and rat seminal vesicles demonstrated the cardiodepressive and vasodilatory effect of azaperone and inhibitory or blocking effect on the adrenergic alpha receptors. Except in cats, the adrenolysis may cause 'adrenaline conversion'.
