The authors presented the whole development cycle of the mite Calvolia fraxini, distinguishing the unobserved up to date developmental stages of two heteromorphic generations (spring and summer generations — Table 1). The development of this mite is closely synchronized with that of its hosts insects — Leperisinus fraxini (Panz.) and L. orni (Fuchs). It attacks all praeimaginal stages of these bark beetles but prefers weak or dead individuals.
